The BA Must Carry the Ball from UC -> QA

SZ you are right on the money, IMHO, re: the BA first as Business Use Case perfector, then transitioning around to the other end of the process, QA testing, to make sure that the business purpose has been implemented effectively.

You ask where is the training for BA's to be found? For now, the best BA's IMHO are the seasoned veterans of SDLC in pre-RUP days, coming from either the Operations or Development side of the house. These individuals should tend to have a holistic, end-to-end grasp of the entire system and must view themselves as having final responsibility for seeing to it that the the required business function has been thoroughly described and implemented.

How about using the principles of OO Design
as an evaluative principles? to check if the about package diagram are principle-wise-compliant. They are:

REP- The Realease-Reuse Equivalency Principle
CCP- The Common Closure Principle
CRP- The Common Reuse Principle
ADP- The Acylic Dependencies Principle
SDP- The Stable Dependencies Principle
SAP- The Stable Abstraction Principle
