Good book on MOF, MDA

David S. Frankel is the author of an important book on MDA with the title Model Driven Architecture, Applying MDA to Enterprise Computing. A large chapter is devoted to explaining the MOF - the Meta Object Facility. The MOF provides the facility of a repository for information in a UML model.

MDA tools access the MOF programmatically in order to retrieve model information during the transformation process. Since an understanding of the MOF is fundamental to a working knowledge of MDA, the pages that patiently guide the reader through this complex topic are well worth reading.
