Studying resources for OMG UML 2.0 UML Professional exam

Hi all, I have just got the voucher for the best test.

The only studying resource that I have is the UMLInfrastructure document -very tough by the way- from the OMG web site.
Has anybody got any other resources useful for preparing for the exam?

I have to recognize that my UML knowledge got stuck on 1.1 and it has not progressed beyond that point. Thus, things like Collaborations (role modeling) is absolute a new stuff for me. And the new Notation to model "Models" is new as well.
It seems that 2.0 is a major release compared to 1.3 and 1.4 which where minor releases.

I completely agree with all the opinnions given in this forum about OMG vs IBM certification. I think OMG won't ever replace the IBM's one because their focus is different. I wish OMG covered some day Analysis and Design skills.

Thank you very much
Marcial

Here are some suggestions:

The OMG specification can be downloaded
from: http://www.omg.org/cgi-bin/doc?ptc/2003-07-06

There are also a few books on UML 2.0, such as
Jesse Chonoles, James Schardt, UML 2 for Dummies (2003).
Hans-Erik Eriksson, Magnus Penker, Brian Lyons, David Fado, UML 2 Toolkit,
John Wiley (2003). Due Sept 2003
Martin Fowler, UML Distilled (Third Edition), Addison-Wesley (2003). Due
Sept 2003

Also refer to this postings on UML 2.0 forum
http://forums.objectsbydesign.com/f...&forumid=20

I will be referring this materials as per what is avaialable.

Hope this helps.

Smile OMG suggestions II

Thank you, Surender Subramaniam.

As you says, document you can download at http://www.omg.org/cgi-bin/doc?ptc/2003-07-06 is the superstructure -The only one I have.

There is another one, but is just a presentation (although useful to see the most important features):

UML 2.0 Superstructure Proposal

Thank you very much for the book list, very valuable.

Marcial

Thanks Marcial for these additional links.

Just a quick note that if you go to the University of Alabama CS 630 Advanced Software Engineering page, you will find additional resources on UML 2.0 as well as some other goodies (MDA, MOF, etc.).

Looks like a great course!
