passed the exam - 84%

Must read books:
Larman is a good book from end to end.
Fowler is a good book.
Refactoring by fowler.

I got all the design questions based on refactoring, like adding methods and attributes. subclassing , adding a new class, which class needs to be called to get some information .

I got the exhibit from University-Department-Course-Student Model. It was not too lengthy but all questions were based on this one model.

More than 50% were based on this model as well other questions were based other model exhibits.

Less than 25% were straight forward questions.

Thanks
pace

1) You can start with "UML Distilled" by Martin Fowler

2) "Applying UML and Patterns" by Craig Larman

3) Messages and discussions on this board

4) Notes by CFW and Bala Paranj for the exam and their sample questionaires available in this page

http://www.objectsbydesign.com/tools/certification.html

5) ICE sample exam from IBM website
http://www-1.ibm.com/certify/tests/sam486.shtml

5) Whizlabs simulator ($90) gives us a real exposure to the difficulty level of the exam. This one is optional depending on our gut feeling.

Hope this helps.
